Blog #2: Stereotyping in Crash

Welcome back to our class blog!

I would like you to think about how the videos I showed in class--"Like a Girl," "Male Cheerleading Squad," and "Redraw the Balance"--relate to the novel, Crash. How does those videos relate to the theme of gender stereotyping? In what ways does Crash act stereotypically like the "Male football player?" In what ways does Crash's father, Mr. Coogan, contribute to Crash's continued stereotyping behavior? What gender stereotypes are highlighted in the novel?

As you respond, cite evidence from the story and explain how it supports your thesis statements.
